
A large and wonderful Japanese Lacquer Bunko (document box), Edo or Meiji Period (late 18th-late 19th century) decorated in gold, silver and blue hiramaki-e (low-relief lacquer) and nashiji (sprinkled gold powder) the interior of the cover decorated in iroe-hiramaki-e (colored low-relief lacquer) and takamaki-e (high-relief lacquer) with a village by a lake, a rice paddy, a waterfall and a bridge under a night sky.
